The adventure begins with a scenic drive from Gondar to Debark, the gateway to the Simien Mountains National Park. Upon arrival, you will meet your guide and trek crew before starting the hike towards Sankaber, the first campsite. The trail takes you through lush forests, past local villages, and offers magnificent views of the dramatic landscapes with towering peaks, deep valleys, and rugged cliffs.
After a hearty breakfast, you will continue your trek to Geech Village, passing through the stunning Jinbahir viewpoint. This route provides breathtaking panoramas of the valleys below and the jagged mountain range that stretches into the horizon. Upon reaching Geech, you’ll settle in for the night, surrounded by the serenity and beauty of the mountains.
Today’s trek takes you to one of the most renowned viewpoints in the Simien Mountains, Imet Gogo, where you can capture extraordinary views of the surrounding mountains and deep ravines. Continuing on, the trail leads down towards the Chenek campsite, an area known for its wildlife sightings, including the Gelada monkeys and the rare Walia ibex. After a day filled with spectacular vistas, you’ll rest at the campsite, enjoying the tranquility of the highlands.
On the final day, you’ll trek from Chenek back to Debark, where your vehicle awaits to drive you back to Gondar. The trail offers more scenic views of the rugged terrain and a chance to reflect on the beauty and wildness of the Simien Mountains. After reaching Debark, you'll be transferred back to Gondar, concluding your unforgettable trek through one of Africa’s most spectacular mountain ranges.
