Arrive in Bale and head straight to the Dinsho area, the gateway to Bale Mountains National Park, to see endemic wildlife such as the Ethiopian wolf and the Menelik’s bushbuck. Explore the park’s lush landscapes and take a short hike through the alpine meadows for breathtaking views of the surrounding mountains. In the afternoon, continue to Goba, the main town near the park, and enjoy the scenic beauty of the area before settling in for an overnight stay.
After breakfast, embark on a full-day excursion to the Sanetti Plateau, where you’ll walk through the high-altitude moorlands, a prime location to spot rare wildlife like the Ethiopian wolf and giant molerat. Visit Tullu Deemtu, the highest peak in the Bale Mountains, for spectacular panoramic views of the surrounding highlands. Return to Goba in the evening, where you can relax and enjoy a cozy overnight stay after an adventurous day.
Today, explore the Harenna Forest, one of the last remaining tropical forests in Ethiopia, home to rare species such as the Bale monkey and forest antelope.
